One Amino Acid Trumps The Rest

Amino acids supplements have gotten a bad rap as research shows they don’t offer us any benefits. But because these supplements are worthless, does not mean amino acids themselves are bad. Amino acids are the building blocks of protein. We all know we need protein to build muscle. Thus, we also need amino acids. Specifically, research does show that one amino acid is show to be more effective at increasing muscle mass and strength than compared to others.

Leucine has shown to be the most effective amino acids in augmenting muscle mass and strength. Of course you can find supplements that contain leucine, but of course we always want to try and get these nutrients from food. Check out this link for good sources of leucine:

Note that Leucine is an Essential Amino Acid….meaning that your body cannot produce these on its own. Consuming complete proteins (animal-based proteins) contain all of the essential amino acids that we need.
